Alphabots Challenge 2024 in Alexandria
We are delighted that the Alphabots Challenge 2024, supported by EWA, was successfully completed in Alexandria, Egypt. The competition was co-organized by our member Alexandria Training & Engineering Services Center.

Preparation of an EWA China Office (Henan)
At the invitation of the Reform Commission of the city of Zhengzhou, our Chairman (R. Langmann) and Vice Chairman (K. Hengsbach) visited Zhengzhou from November 18th to 22nd, 2024. A preparatory committee for the establishment of an EWA office in China was formed at our member RUI De International Colleg (see picture).
The future EWA China Office (Henan) is intended to promote and further expand cooperation with educational partners in China.
STE 2025

The 22nd International Conference on Smart Technologies & Education (STE 2025) will take place under the motto "Smart Technologies for an All-Electric Society" at the Instituto Profesional de la Fundación Duoc UC in Santiago de Chile.

All Electric Society International Summit 2024
(AES 2024)
The All Electric Society International Summit on Electric Mobility through Smart Cities will take place in Gijon (SPAIN) from September 19th to 20th, 2024. At the invitation of the conference, our chairman will present the EWA and its current activities at the Summit.

Sino-German Intelligent Manufaturing Training Base
On May 9, 2024, the signing ceremony for the "Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Training Base" project between the Zhengzhou University Industrial Technology Research Institute and the Bejing SWP Intelligence Invfestment Consulting Co., Ltd. took place at our EWA member RuiDe International College in Zhengzhou (China).
The Chairman of the EWA, Prof. Dr.-Ing. R. Langmann, gave a speech on this project ceremony and explained the EWA's support for this project. Among other things, it is planned that the EWA will support the internationalization of this project and be involved in the certification of corresponding training and further education courses.
STE 2024
March 6 - 8, 2024; Arcada University, Helsinki/Finland
The Steering Committees of the EduNet Conference, the IEWC and the REV decided in Thessaloniki to merge all three conferences into a new conference, the International Conference on Smart Technologies & Education (STE), from 2024 onwards.
Within the STE2024, the EduNet Forum took place as a prominent special session (our previous annual EduNet Conference). The EduNet Forum featured presentations organized by Phoenix Contact/EduNet Forum Committee and industry workshops.
134 participants registered for STE2024. Here are some impressions from the conference:

All STE papers are published with Springer in the series Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems.
Phoenix Contact STE Student Award
The digital transformation in the context of the fourth industrial revolution can only succeed with the leadership and participation of young engineers. For the STE2024, the best young engineering students, especially from the fields of Automation and Information Technology, were being sought worldwide and honoured with the Phoenix Contact STE Student Award.
The nominees were:
- Project “Less Water Urinal“ by Akash Pradeep et al., FISCAT, India
- Project “Intelligent Air Handling Unit Based on Digital Twins” by Wanlin Zhang et al., Wanlin, Tongij University, China
- Project “HoloLEIV - AR Based Setup and Operation of Inline Robotic Systems” by Benedikt Tobias Müller, TH Dortmund, Germany
The winner ist Benedikt Tobias Mueller of TU Dortmund.
